Hello, how can I save a copy of an Infopath form (.xsn) stored in Sharepoint (2007) "Manage Form Template"?

Hi, when you open the InfoPath form by clicking New Form, do you see a little stencil icon in the toolbar? Looks like a slanted A on a ruler with with a pencil pointing into it. If you see that, click on it. Answer OK to the warnings and you will see the form in the designer. InfoPath toolbar will display "Designer". If you get that far, just use File->Save As to backup the XSN. There are other ways to get at it. For example, from the SharePoint form library you can go to Form Settings -> Advanced Settings and Edit Template and then save it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply but I cannot see any stencil with pencil.

If I understand you correctly you are trying to download a copy of a XSN file that is already published to a document library.

The easiest way to do this visually is using SharePoint Designer and navigating to the folder that is using the template (assuming it has one content type only) and  then drill into FORMS folder and download template.xsn

SECOND METHOD

Navigate to the folder in the/ browser (Example:   http://sharepointsite.com/site/doclibrary/Forms/AllItems.aspx ) then take off AllItems.asp and replace with template.xsn - so you end up with http://sharepointsite.com/site/doclibrary/Forms/template.xsn

 This is all assuming your folder is not using a Shared Template.

I think it's a little easier to just go to the library and click Actions > Open in Windows Explorer, then click inside the Forms folder to get the XSN.  Or, go to Form Library Settings > Advanced Settings > Edit Template.
