    Publishing Forms

    Hi,

Am a complete newbie to InfoPath (2007), however have managed to get some things working, namely retrieving data from a SQL Server database and then submitting data back to it!!!

One thing I don't understand is when I've created my forms, how do other people use them - I just want them to fill in the data on the form and submit it, but don't want the form opening up in the InfoPath application since the users will be able to save different versions of the form.

Looks like a good tool, I just can't work out how it all fits together.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Simon

What do you mean by the statement that "since the users will be able to save different versions of the form"?  That's not the case unless you give them the template (XSN).  If you have SharePoint, you just publish it to a SharePoint form library (new or existing).  If you don't, you can publish to a network location that everyone has access to, or you can publish to a set of email recipients.  Users will fill out the client version that saves/submits as XML.  Don't just submit the data to the SQL DB but also submit the file to some location as a record.
