    Custom Save Button (Infopath 2003)

Hi, im tryin' to figure out, how to create a custom "save"-button in infopath 2003. does anybody have a solution?

(what i need is a normal save-dialog (or "save-as"-dialog) .... which infopath shows me, when i click on my custom-save-button)

i tried it with "XDocument.Save()", but it shows me an ErrorDialog and says that a permission is not allowed.
i've read on the msdn site (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb229812.aspx) that the Save-Method needs
a form, which is fully trusted, but i dont know how to give my form the "fully-trusted"-status

    Welcome to the forum.

Full Trust is a pain. It requires that your form be converted to an MSI and installed on each users computer. SO each time it is updated it would need to be redeployed to everyone.

Typically I avoid this at all costs.

Why does the standard functionality for save and save as not work?  Or why can you not have a submit data connection to a web server and have a consistent naming scheme etc?

Does your code work on your machine in preview?

Re: Custom Save Button (Infopath 2003)

I have a similar situation that requires a custom save button.

I have a form that will be a content type becauase it will be part of a site template that we use to create our customer sites.

I need the form to submit to a database (I have done this before), but also save a copy of the form to the library. I don't want the users to have to submit their change to the database and save it to the library. I can't use the usualy SharePoint library connection because it will be a content type and the URL will be changing. I tried adding XDocument.save(); but it's throwing errors that it is not declared, etc. What am I missing?
