InfoPath Dev

I am using InfoPath 2007 with WSS 3.0

I have a form with tick buttons which allow the user to select which departments to send the form to, i.e. Legal, Finance... (as a Submit Data > As an e-mail message) upon pressing a Submit button.

Below it I have a Contact Selector which allows the user to choose other contacts not mentioned in the above.

Now if the user selects one of the distinations from the tick boxes but leaves the Contact Selector blank they get the following error message:

InfoPath cannot submit the form.
An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
One of the required values for submitting the form is missing. The value is created using the following XPath expression: my:gpContactSelector/my:Person/my:DisplayName

Now I have checked the properties for DisplayName and it is not a required field. Does anybody have an idea as to what is going on?

Is the parent group node repeating? If so, double click on it in the data source task pane and go to details and make sure MinOccurs is not set to 1.

I have checked. The parent group is Repeating and Minimum Occurances: 0

I have sorted this now. Turns out it was the order in which I was processing rules. With the Contact Selector rules running after the other Data Submits the form works fine. Schoolboy error!
