Not getting data across into print view

    Hi, all concerned.

I am again trying to wrap up this program (problem). I have one main screen, a severly modified printview (which I will delete) and another printview which I use to map data from the main screen into MS Access database.

    My problems are:=
1  I am mapping data from the main screen variables and hard coded text, into printline variables, that will then be exported into Word. I hope.

2 The variables seem not to show any values until data is stored and saved into the database.
I am seriously puzzled. I am loading up database variables by hand.

3 I am setting Main screen variables, pressing Save button, and most of the main screen variables are being reset.
I think my initialising the variables as the first rule may have an impact.  I am not sure if you can offer any help, But try if you can.

4 The system is so loaded up with (InfoPath system) programming from all the rules and conditions loaded up for over 200 variables.
Now that it can take up to 2 minutess to start, I have a one gig RAM.
QUESTION here - If i DELETE SOME VARIABLES in use, and the Print View,
will I regain some work space, and lower the complexity and load on the system?

5 There have been so many writes and rewrites to the original system design. I last counted over 460 revisions over a month ago.
I am having user mods to contend with, and the inability to direct export to Word with a Word print view function.
Does the system keep building itself up?  Or, should I create a new proejct and copy the final design, to minimise system load?

6 I am getting runtime Infopath errors, with suggestions of variables for cause, that are not easily found.
Is there a way of making all variable appear at the one time? Even those enclosed in Expression boxes!

7 I have had some joy in copying variables into EXCEL and can then edit the variables data.
This may be the course to follow.. Can you offer any other thoughts?

8 As another option, I am thinking of creating a separate Infopath form, to handle the Print View handling.
How do I conenect the database record open. Or, correctly reopen the databse record in use.
And that would also involve saving the record before calling the second program.  Any thoughts there??

Any questions, suggestion, or any help, is most welcome for the above.

Re: Not getting data across into print view

Ian, I still feel the same way, and I believe others here do, too, but I don't speak for them.  You have created an abomination that needs some serious attention.  This cannot be fixed by asking for free help on a forum with all these different posts.  We can't see the form, don't have the form template, and don't have first-hand knowledge of all the logic in the form.  That makes it nearly impossible to "fix" it for you, because your problems aren't as simple as flipping a switch.

It's not considerate to ask us to do your work for you.  This is what most of us do for a living.  Just my opinion, but I help people for free all day long almost 7-days-a-week, so for me to say this, I hope it has at least some weight or meaning.
