I am new to InfoPath and I what I am trying to get at this point is to have a direction on how to acoomplish a particular task.
I have a multi-selection list box that displays a series of option names originating from a Sharepoint list. As the user selects an option, the value of their selection is appended to a text box so that the ending result is a text value showing all the options selected. Technically, this works fine for our use. However, if a user made a wrong selection, it is cumbersome for them to cut the wrong name out (in fact, with all due respects, some of our users may not even know how to highlight and delete text). Another potential problem using this method is that options may be selected twice and that generates a duplicate name in the text box (not a killer problem, just a little confusing for those who process it).
Is there a way I can handle this situation more cleanly?
I have thought that check boxes would serve the application better - that way the user can "turn on/turn off" their selection but I don't know of a way to associate a series of check boxes to the contents of the list box. I tried just putting them to the left of the list box but they don't line up properly. I also don't see how I can add the check boxes to a table that has the option names displayed either. But it is entirely possible that my problem is simply due to my unfamiliarity with the controls.
Can anyone offer some insight on how I can accomplish this task?
i appreciate your help.
