Publish Infopath form to a Custom List

Hello, I need to publish my infopath form to a custom list, and when I click into a NEW ITEM button, my infopath form should be launched. But I can't do this. I can just publish my infopath form into document library and form library. How can I do this?

If you can't wait until the next release of SharePoint and InfoPath, you could use our SharePoint list mapper but it's a fire-and-forget model. In other words, you cannot edit the list items after you save and then reopen the form and expect the XML to be updated. If that's fine, send me e-mail and we can post the tool. We need to post the tool anyway.

    Hi Michael,

Yes, we have a tool to do this, but it has not been released to our website yet. We plan to release it in the next 2 weeks. Sorry for the delay. I'm not sure the tool supports custom lists but it does support batch mapping of InfoPath forms to a SharePoint list.

Re: Publish Infopath form to a Custom List

We would like to use InfoPath to create a form that is used in Sharepoint to update our Risk List through the New Item or Edit Item button.  Based on your post, am I to assume that in the next release of Sharepoint and InfoPath, that we will be able to create a form in InfoPath and then use it in Sharepoint to create a "New Item" or "Edit Item"?  This is exactly what I am looking for.  When can we expect these next releases?
