Good morning,

This is an extension of an earlier post I made in the general forum. http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/11122/39581.aspx#39581  (To summarize I was having trouble emailing multiple people from a multiple selection list-box)

Hilary was very helpful in creating a string for an email submit to multiple users.  Now using the AD service I need to retrieve the managers of the users selected and have them emailed as well.

I'm not quite sure how to go about this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about an AD service, but you can use the User Profile Service (GetProfileByName method) to retrieve the manager username for a user(s), and then you can use the same service (Manager method) to retrieve the Manager's email address.  To do this, you have to be able to submit the user's name and the manager's name to the web service as a directed query, and then it returns the data.  I am not sure if this will work when sending the results of a double eval, but it does work when sending individual names.
