InfoPath Dev

So I have a drop down set up to pull from a list of affiliates in my organization. Not all of these affiliates are active anymore but this is the master list so they must all be in there. Now I have a view created just for the active ones. I use the URL https://sharepointsite.org/lists//AffiliatesActive.aspx for my data connection. When I preview my form in Infopath everything's fine and I can see my active affiliates. But once I publish and open it in my browser it lists all of the affiliates. Any ideas is this a known issue?

I believe it just uses the default view. You can get it to give you a filtered list if you use the FilterOwssvr trick. Search this site (see Custom Search Page link above) or google the world to learn more about FilterOwssvr.

Patrick is correct.  Browser forms can't pull from views using the regular list data connection.  They only pull from the default view, and they always sort the data by ID.  To retrieve data from a specific view in order to get filtering and ordering, you must use the XML data connection method that utilizes OWSSVR.dll as Patrick mentioned.
