SharePoint Form Library - Not Seeing what I Expected

    Hi Folks

Well, I am a newbie to all of this.  I only opened Infopath for the first time yesterday and I think I have done okay so far, but here is my problem...

I have created a "IT Services Request" form in Infopath and placed a "Submit" button at the bottom.  The button submits to SharePoint as well as concatenating three field together to give me the filename.  The file appears in my Form Library as expected, with the correct filename.  However, when I open the file that has been generated and placed in the Form Library I don't see the data layout in the original forms format, all I see is a long list of fieldnames and field content.

What am I doing wrong, or is this what is supposed to happen?

I have a need to be able to open the file and see the data layout in its original format as our IT Service Desk analyst will be using this as their source of information for actioning IT service requests.

    Rick

    Hi,

Are you seeing any deference’s in the forms layout in before submitting to SharePoint and when submitted form opened from SharePoint.

Please give more details about this or attach your xsn file with this forum. So that I can verify.

    Hi Anuma

Thanks for reading my post and getting back to me.  When I open the the submitted form in sharepoint there is no layout.  All I see is the "raw data" - fieldname and content listed down the page - I have copied some of the data displayed in to the bottom of this reply.  I have attached a copy of my .xsn file (its still a work in progress so it is a bit messy).

What I see when I open the submitted form in my Sahrepoint Form Library.....

    Hi RickJ,

When you are viewing the library, what is the icon displayed next to your submitted form? Is it an InfoPath or XML icon? Just wondering how the document library is seeing your form. Also, check your file associations to see what your Infopath files are set to open with. Let us know what you find.
