I am experiencing a problem when a data validation is applied. I have a form which is submited to a sharepoint library. In this form I have the field "Version". The version should be only one of a kind for each form. I can apply the data validation with a data connection to search in the library for duplicates when the value is given. But the problem occurs when an old form is opened, where the Version is already given. So it means that the data validation works again. How can I restrict the data validation to work only when the form is created. Maybe with some of the events ? Does anybody know how to help me
