I am working in SharePoint and InfoPath 2003 and would like to assign each form an Auto Number. I have created a data connection named "Retrieve ID" to place the SharePoint ID number into an InfoPath form. The rule is to run the a query to pull the ID number and then set the field "Form ID" with the formula "max (@ID) + 1". This ID appears when I go from Design Mode to Preview. However, when I go from the Home Page to the library, the ID field is blank. What can I do to ensure that the ID pulls every time the form is opened?
