    schema validation errors

    Hi,

I've migrated a web site from  sharepoint 2003 to MOSS (2007).

i had form library with template.xsn file and XML's.

new files were created from this template till i've realized  that i didn't change the link and the files were using the old template.

The new tamplate has new version number.

now for the problem: after "relinking", a small number of files can't be open since "the form contain schema validation errors".

    Details:

Element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2005-07-28T15:21:10}Service_Requested_WTS' is unexpected according to content model of parent element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2005-07-28T15:21:10}myFields'.
    Expecting: {http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2005-07-28T15:21:10}Service_Requested_Secure_meeting, {http://schem....

     any ideas ?????

    Hello,

You modified the field names or position in myschema.xsd as old forms nodes. In new form you can add the new nodes and do not change the existing field names and position of the elements in your xml.

If you want you can compare both template.xml files of old version and new version then you will get the exact change in new template.xml file.

    Hi,

    Welcome the the Infopathdev Forums.

“Service_Requested_WTS” field is not upgrading in the xml file.

Your schema is modified in the new template. If you didn't modified any schema and just added new schema then follow the below steps.

Open template in design mode. And Select “Automatically Upgrade Existing forms” option in the “On Version Updates” dropdown in the Forms Options. If still you are getting issue, then increase version number to 100 in the form options.

Thats weird, since the XML file was created on the new site.

Yes. You will get same error if you open from old library. Because you are opening the from new site and submitting to old site. So schema will be different in created xml file and the old site xsn.

    Hi,

I think you have modified the fields in the data source. Verify whether ‘Service_Requested_Secure_meeting' field is existing or not in the old template? Make sure that field is available in template.xml file. What is the data type for this field? And can you send the schema for this field?
