I do all my forms and workflows without code, so I can't tell you how to do it in VB, but what I can tell you is that if you are using browser-enabled forms, then the URL string that Forms Server provides when opening a form has an embedded URL at the end that tells the browser where to go upon closing the form.  It defaults to the view the user was in when clicking on the form if they did so from the library itself, but what I've found is that when I do my workflows and dynamically generate a direct URL for my forms in a notification email, I am able to make that last URL anything I want so that when my users click on the URL in their email, it opens the form like normal, but I have just defined where they end up upon clicking "close."  Instead of putting the default view, I can put any URL I want.  Perhaps this concept will lead you down the path to a solution in VB.

What is the error? What version of IP are you using? Are you using the 2007 object model or the 2003 object model? (look under Form Options, Programming, and see what the language is -- if you are using 2003, it will say so...)
