Fetch submitted data from a web service and populate the form.

    Hi everybody,

I’m starting to use SharePoint with IP web Based Forms with web services to receive and submit the data; however I still don’t know what approach to use to allow the user to edit a submitted form.

I didn’t give this a lot a thought but I am seeing this:

    The user submits the form.

A web service saves all the data received to a SQLServer Database. (Here, I’m thinking in not saving the submitted form to a SharePoint List)

Now if the user wants to edit the data he submitted, is it possible to fetch the submitted data from a web service and populate the form? How exactly can one achieve this?

Please notice that I’m just asking for an approach, not the solution.

    Many thanks,

    Hello Welcome to the Forums,

Here is the link how to submit the form using web service,

For getting the data you have to take receive connection in InfoPath and you have to pass the document ID. It will return the complete xml string you have to convert in to XMLDocument2. Using this you can populate the values into your form.
