    how to send a infopath form not as attachment in email

    Hi Experts,

     I'm new to infopath. I'm having outlook 2007 and infopath 2007 in my system. I need to design a simple customer form which will have text box to enter firstname and lastname. I've a sqlserver 2000 db where i have a table which has these two fields in it.

    My requirement is to design the form with first name and lastname with a submit button and this form should be sent to some email addresses. The recipient will not have infopath installed in thier system and might use outlook express, outlook 2005 or 2007. So, the email should contain the form in the body and not ans an attachment. Once they enter the values and submit the form in the email, the values should be stored in my DB.

    I'll really appreciate who can come forward to help me by explaining me the steps.

    Please let me know if my explanation is not understandable.

    Hi,

    Select "Send only the active view of the form and no attachment" radio buton while taking email data connection. This radio button will be displayed if we click on the next button after filling the "To" and "Subject" fields.

    hi anuma, Thanks for the reply. I have selected "Send only the active view of the form and no attachment" radio buton while taking email data connection. But, when i try to send the form to another email where i have only microsoft outlook 2003, i can see the form as attachment and also i could not see the submit button which i'm having in my form. I have a  form where i have firstname, lastname and a submit button. Upon submitting the submit button in the email, the values should be updated in the db.

     If you can provide me the step by step of how to create a sample form with a firstname, lastname and a submit button. This form should be sent as an email (not as attachment) in the body of the email where recipients of this form should update thier details in the form and submit it in the email itself. after submitting the values, should be stored in the db.

     I would really appreciate if you can help me here.

    Hi,

    you can use this bit of code to send the form in the body of an email and not as an attachment, even user who havn't infopath installed can view it.

    var mail = Application.ActiveWindow.MailEnvelope;

     mail.Subject = "MY Subject Text";

     mail.Visible = true;

    hi Rajitha,

     Thanks for the quick response.

    Could you pls let me know where should i write this piece of code? Should this be written on the click of submit button. As informed earlier, i need to send a infopath form from my office 2007 to some recipients. once they enter the values in the form and click on submit button, the data has to be inserted into the database. How do i use both datasource submit and email submit in the same form. Pls find the design form screen shot below.
