    Repeating Table to Sharepoint

    Hello,

I am working building a Project status reporting tool on sharepoint. To input data for each project i'm using an infopath form however I dont know how to publish this data to a sharepoint list. I can publish to a form library but then the data in the repeated table is merged. I want the data to be clearly formatted on each line.

     Is it possible? how?

     Thanks !!

    Hi Welcome to the Forums,

Repeating data will not merge automatically. We need to select "merge" option while adding promoted properties. Please follow the below steps to select "merge" Option.

    1. Click on "Add" button.

    2. Select Field from repeating table.

    3. Select "Merge" in the "Choose a Function to use on repeating dat" dropdown and Click on ok.

    4. Now publish the form to share point and verify the repeating data in promoted column.

In SharePoint each row data is displayed in next line.

    Thanks for your prompt reply,

At the moment I am able to merge the data from repeated table, however the merge data does not come up in a line.

Also, is it possible to publish the data a sharepoint LIST so I can create views? So each project will have several different milestones so the formatting would look as below:

     Project Name             Milestone

    Project A                    Milestone 1

                                     Milestone 2

                                     Milestone 3

    Project B                   Milestone 1

                                    Milestone 2

    ...

Hope the above query is comprehendable.

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,

To my knowledge, you cannot publish the form to a SharePoint list. But you can get the same data as in the sharepoint library to which you are submitting the data. To do this, follow the below steps.

    1.       Open the main shrepoint library.

    2.       In Actions, select ‘Edit in DataSheet’.

    3.       In Actions, select ‘Export to spread sheet’.

    4.       Click Save and save to your local machine.

    5.       Double on the file which is saved on your machine. Then you will see a excel sheet with a window. Click enable in that window.

    6.       In the design tab, click on Export. Then click on ‘Export table to sharepointlist’.

    7.       In the address text box, enter the sharepoint url.

    8.       In the name textbox, enter the sharepoint list name.Click Next.

    9.       Click Finish. Then you will get a window with the url of sharepoint list .click on that.

    10.   You will see the sharepoint list with the data view. Go to Actions, click on ‘Show in Standard view’.

Yes I have tried that and it works fine for single values, however it does not work for repeating table. Basically I want the user (Project Managers) to be able to add more then one milestone to each project. To my knowledge, you cannot do this in sharepoint as each field is only allowed to have one value. Therefore I thought of using infopath.

Any ideas, how I can get around it?

    Regards
