    Conditional formatting on repeating tables

    Hi,

    Please can someone help? I'm getting very confused about something I'm trying to do in my form.

    I have a form collecting vacancy information for a company. Staff can input (into a repeating section) 1 or more jobs that needs to be filled and the form gets sent to HR. Each job has to be checked for possible redeployment opportunities so in the redeployment section I have put in a repeating table that autopopulates from the repeating section of job data, input in the first part of the form. Then next to each is a drop-down "status" list stating whether the post is "Suitable for redeployment" OR "Release for recruitment".

    I want to have buttons that are hidden until needed, e.g. a button saying "Notify staff of redeployment" that pops up when that option is selected in the drop-down list (the button would fire an email to relevant manager). However, the conditional formatting hiding the button only seems to respond to the first entry in the repeating table - all the additional rows seem to be ignored....

    Is there a way to make the conditional formatting look at ALL rows? If it needs code to do this, please could you tell me how to do this as I've not used code before.

    Thanks in advance to anyone who can help :-)

    Re: Conditional formatting on repeating tables

    When you set up your conditional formatting, you will be pointing to a field in the repeating table and checking a condition.

    So for example, you might have conditional formatting that says where [field1] [is not equal to] ["abc"]

    This kind of formatting will only get the first row field1.

    In the Select A Field Or Group dialog box, there's a "Select" drop-down box at the bottom... here you can choose "All occurrences of field1". This will look at all rows.

    The XPath notation of the two conditions is as follows... you can see the difference:

    Original: my:group1/my:group2/my:field1 != "a"

    Correct: not(my:group1/my:group2/my:field1[. = "a"])

     Fantastic, that's just what I needed! I never noticed that little box down there, but it completely answers my question, so THANK YOU Greg!
