I would like to setup an InfoPath form (browser based) to write to SQL via a web service but treat it in much the same way within SharePoint as any other document; indexing, searching, applying workflows, versioning, assigning, auditing, tracking, assigning users, grouping, etc. Is this possible? Does SharePoint treat an InfoPath web form that is writen to an external SQL DB, the same as an InfoPath form written or saved directly to SharePoint? Thoughts? Recommendations?
What are the main limitations to browser based forms?
