    Text box character limit

    Hi All:

I'm new to Infopath and am sure there is a simple solution to this, but I can't seem to find an answer using data validation.

I have a textbox on a form. The text field must contain any combination of 12 alpha numeric values (must be 12, cannot be less).

    Examples:

    1234567890AA (this is ok)

    1234R567D5S7 (this is ok)

    12345T5 (this is wrong)

Can anyone help me via a rule or data validation?

    Thanks for any help

You can do this validation via string-length (.) > 12 AND string-length(.) < 12. See the attached template for a sample.

    Ernesto:

This is perfect! Thanks! How would  also keep them from entering "special" characters (i.e. @, #, $, %, /, etc)

    Thanks for the quick reply!!
