    Save Attachments

Does anybody know if there is a way to open a file attached to an infopath document, make some changes to the file and afterwards save it again so that the changes are directly in the file attachment. Is it possible ? or do I need to save it first to some other destination then make the changes, delete the old file attachment form the infopath form and attacht the new file again ?

    Thx

    Hi Jerome,
Unfortunately, this is not possible. You need to delete and re-attach. For an existing attachment, there is no way to edit and re-attach. For many of our solutions, we end up adding buttons to delete and re-attach so it simplifies the user experience. Hope this helps!

I searched for it in this forum and in the knowledge base and found nothing... my question is...

Say I have a user that attaches something to an infopath form.  The form then has to be passed on to someone else, and then on again until it gets to a boss.  I am not using digital signatures and my boss refuses to let me.  Instead I made a custom text box that users are putting passwords into.  The passwords are kept in an access database.  Anyway... what I want to do is make it so that whoever puts the attachment on the form has full control to it (add, delete, whatever...), but I want everyone on from there to only be able to read it.  Is that possible?

    Thank You.

Hi -- I'm not seeing anything built in right off the bat -- you can conditionally disable the control, but disabling it doesn't allow reading. I can't find any information about being able to programatically manipulate the settings for the control, but there may be a way to approach this in code.
