    Pasting from Word

When posting in this forum, you might have noticed that if one pastes directly from Word the text will appear jumbled (line breaks will be lost).

This is sample text, written and formatted in Word and (linebreak) pasted directly into the Message field.

Below is the same sample text, pasted using the "Paste from Word" button (third button from the right).

pasted directly into the Message field.

It is obvious that some aesthetic formatting is lost, but the line breaks, which are probably essential to most documents, are preserved!

Word introduces a lot of extra formatting that is irrelevant in WYSIWYG (what-you-see-if-what-you-get) editors, like this one, on the Internet. The solution, sadly, is to sacrifice some of the formatting by using the "Paste from Word" button, which tries to smoothly transition text from Word to the forum.

Thanks for the info, Ernesto!  Do you know when intelligent is going to be fixing this bug?

The problem exists in web based WYSIWYG tools: pasting from Word is a mess due to all the specialized Microsoft code. As a solution to that issue, most tools provide a "Paste from Word" button that attempts to clean up the code. Therefore, I don't believe this is considered a bug.
