 Hi All,

I have a doubt in my mind. Need some clarification.

Is it true that when we attach any file through File Attachment control in infopath 2007, the files gets compressed? 

I know that it gets encoded, but dont know whether its compressed or not!!

If it is true than can somebody plz send me some links which justifies the same?

You should be able to test.

Create a simple form with an attachment control and create a new document and save it.

Record its size

Take an attachment file. Word file or something.

Record its size.

Attach the file to the document and save

Record its size.

Do the math. :)

I created the a form in infopath. Added an file attachment control to it.

Created a document called abc.doc and saved it. Recorded its size.

Than I attached the document abc.doc to the form using file attachment control. Saved the form and again opened it to record the size of attachment.

The size was same. there was no change. no file compression.

I dont think that files gets compressed after encoding!!!
