Data Connection to update Sharepoint Form

     Hey Guys,

I am fairly new to this forum so I hope I posting in the right section. I am also new to Infopath and I ran into a bit problems in the system I am supporting.I have some infopath forms which are published to a Sharepoint 2003 Form Library. The form has main data connection to submit the data to a SQL Server 2000 Database and a secondary data connection to submit the data to the form library.  The problem I am having is I need to make changes to the SQL backend data and have it reflected in the form. When I made the changes in the SQL db, the form does not update. So I assumed that i needed to create a rule to update the form. I tried adding a rule to main query data connection in the form options but when the form loaded it was completely blank (it was white, no controls or data), so I tried using a button to execute the rule which had the same result. Am I doing anything wrong? Do I need to post more information on the subject? Any assistance on this matter would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Darwin

    Hey Darwin.

    Welcome to Infopath.

I would create a new form and do soem playing and testing to gain familiarity before updating your production form.

It is a database type form? It has a query fields and data fields in the main data source?

If so I would make sure there are not multiple views and somehow it is opening with a blank view.

I recommend creating a data dump view, one with all of the data source fields on it, and then buttons to go to that view and back. that gives you a way to monitor what is happening with your data while the form is active.
