Hi

i have one Xml file and  i have 2 dropdownlist my infopath form.İ want to use xml file to fiil these dropdown list.

My Xml File

<Departments>

<Staff>Ali</Staff>

<Staff>Guler</Staff>

<Department name="Hardware">

<Staff>Omer</Staff>

<Staff>Mesut</Staff>

</Departments>

if dropdownlist1 value="Software"  dropdownlist2 value must equal Ali,Güler i can but

if i had selected once dropdownlist1 value="Software"  after change when i slected dropdownlist1 value="Hardware"  dropdownlist2 value must equal Ali,Güler ,Fatih,Omer,Mesut but i dont want like this.

I want if i select dropdownlist1 value="Software"  dropdownlist2 value must equal Ali,Güler

if i select dropdownlist1 value="Software"  dropdownlist2 value must equal Fatih,Omer,Mesut

it cant be repeat.

please help me.

I am a little confused as to exactly what you want, but I would guess that if dropdown list 1 = Software, you would like Ali and Guler in ddl 2, and if ddl 1 = Hardware, you would like Fatih, Omer, and Mesut in ddl 2. Is that correct?

It sounds like you have your dropdowns set up correctly, filtering 2 on the choice made in 1. If you add a rule to ddl 1 to set the value of the field bound to ddl 2 to blank, you won't have the issue with the previously selected name being added to the list for ddl 2 when you change the selection in 1.

I applied your methods but that time only one element coming ddl2.

i am selecting an element from ddl1 only one element comming ddl2.

For example

ddl1 elements must have software and Hardware.Yes i have this elements on ddl2.

if i select Software from ddl1 ,ddl2 have to Ali and Güler but only Comming Ali

if i select Hardware from ddl1 ,ddl2 have to Fatih,Omer and Mesut but only Comming Fatih

How can i solve this problem.

Hi,

Put a filter on the second drop down. To do that follow the below steps.

1. Click on  ddl2 properties,and  select 'staff'  in Entries dropdown.

2. Click Filter Data then you will get a Filter Data window. Click Add button.

3. In 'Specify Filter conditions' window select 'name'(from xml) in first dropdown 'is equal to' in second dropdown and ddl1 field in third drop down.
