An error occured accessing a data source

    Can Somebody help me?

I've created infopath form, which is have secondary data connection (SQL Server 2000). when i test the form in infopath, it works nicely, but when I upload it into sharepoint, this error raise "An error occured accessing a data source".

What I'm doing is, I already convert the SQL local data connection into UDCX files, i also already upload it into Data Connection Library and "Manage Data Connection Files in Sharepoint Central Administration"

I also already try to choose the connection options, both "Local data connection Library" which the source I put in "Data Connection Library" and "Centrally Managed Connection Library" which I put the data connection in Central Administration but this 2 methods return the same error, I suggest if there is something that I must set in Sharepoint Central Administration or sharepoint site, or is it because our company have proxy server? I already tick the "allow cross domain" in Sharepoint Central Administration, but there is no changes....

Any help would be highly appreciated, thanks

    Best Regards

    Hi Rico.

My guess is this is the IIS issue where credentials cannot be passed to a second site. "double hop" I believe it is referred to as.

When a form runs in IPFS it cannot pass your credentials again to SQL or a seperate server. As a work around, create a SQL account for access in SQL and then put that in your UDC file so that it has the credentials to access the data built into the connection.  Otherwise you could switch to web services, like the database accelerator (www.qdabra.com) and still have security permissions on the data itself and the ability to query the table rather than loading the whole thing each time.

    Hi Mr Clay,

Many thanks for replying.... I know a little about qdabra, I will have a further read about that...

ehm, about adding SQL account in SQL Server, should I add the account in SQL Server 2000 security logon? or just put the account in the database itself (add the account per database (ex. northwind database), or in all database?)

Kindly could you provide me with the steps, how to add SQL account information in UDC data connection? what part of XML should I add or change?

thanks for your help, really appreciate your quick reply...

Add a login in SQL and then add the permissions.

Then in the UDC you can edit the xml and add the credentials I beleive.

I already add a user in SQL, then I add the credential on UDC's XML (authentication tag), I have tried both SSO or ExplicitConnection, I also tried to use NTLM (with windows login) and Sql(with user which I've been created) but it still returning the same error.. any other suggestion?

    thanks
