Displaying multiple checkbox values in one SharePoint column - InfoPath 2007

I found this post from 2008 for doing this in InfoPath 2003 http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/7152/26462.aspx, but this doesn’t work on InfoPath 2007 that I know of.  I have a form with 8 check boxes and each check box is a code, so when the user checks the box I want the codes to display the data in 1 SharePoint column.  I have placed a hidden field on the form for the data to go into, but I cannot figure out how to get all the data to display.  I had setup rules for when the user checks the box to add text to the hidden field followed by a semicolon or a comma.  But the problem with that is it only puts in the text for the last box I checked.  Does anyone know how to accomplish this either with or without code?

Sounds like the double eval trick is what you need:

You can set up your checkboxes to have blank values when cleared, and a certain value when checked, then concatenate all the non-blank ones together.

I'll take a look at this.  I am a bit of a newby when it comes to infopath (been using it for 2 weeks).  I may have questions....lots of them :)

    Thanks,

OK, I looked at the example, and I'm not understanding how you got the formula to work in the rules.  I tried to copy/paste the formula and change the information to match my test form before I mess with the production form and it says it cant find the information.  I have attached my test form, maybe you could help me understand it better.  I removed any rules I had in there so it should be very basic.  Taking the formula I found in the check box rule I modified as follows based on my very basic understanding.  The problem is, it cant find 'multiple_selection_test/field1'.  Let me know what help you can offer.

    substring(eval(eval(Inventory_Master_List[@IOR = "yes"], 'concat(", ", @ID)'), ".."), 2) > substring(eval(eval(multiple_selection_test[@field1 = "yes"], 'concat(", ", @ID)'), ".."), 2)

    Thanks,

    Dustin
