    Copyright?

    Hi All,

Yup newbie here, well newbie to the forum. Hi...

I've done some brief searching around and was woundering if it is posible to apply [ UK ] copyright to a infopath form design? I've made a very complex and usefull form which I can see taking off if i was able to promote it, but before I do i was looking at perhaps getting a copyright of some kind?

I know its a Microsoft product etc, and believe this type of design would use the same type as copyright as a published book?

    Can any one help?

     Thanks,

    Hi James,

I suppose it depends on the copyright laws in UK. In the US, my understanding is that certain elements of a form (for example, icons) can be trademarked, but the layout of a form cannot be copyrighted. Of course, if you have code behind the form and that code is not obvious to someone skilled in the art of coding, it could be patented.

Not sure if this is the answer you were looking for ...
