    need a very basic workflow

I have an Infopath 2007 form that users currently fill out and submit, which then does an 'email submit' to my email address, and also a 'sharepoint library submit'. Everything works great.

However, what I'd like is to have is an additional 'email submit' that sends the form for approval before it gets to me. The address to which this would be sent is entered by the user on the form. It would also get submitted to the document library at this point, with the file name including a "P" somewhere in it meaning the approval is pending .. something like "Request - (P) - 10-11-2010 11:35 - Joe Smith.xml"

When the approver gets the form via email, he/she would approve or deny it and THEN it would get sent to my email address, and the form in the document library would have that approval letter in the file name changed to either "A" (approved) or "D" (denied).

Hopefully that sounds as simple as I'm imaging. Basically, it would just be:

User submits form --> gets uploaded to Doc Library (with a "P" somewhere in the file name) AND emailed to manager for approval --> manager approves or denies --> gets uploaded to Doc Library and original file is either renamed or overwritten (with a "A" or "D" instead of the "P") AND email gets sent to me

I've done a bunch of Googling all the workflow stuff I'm coming across is much more complex than what I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, you can add another submit button that do what you want and display it with conditionnal formatting when your first approval is finish.

When your user click on the first submit you can set a field to true. You can hide or show your button base on this field with conditionnal formatting.

I tried this, but when that field becomes true, the second submit button appears on the user's form after the click 'submit' (the form is set to stay open after submission). My rules for the submit button set the textbox value to "true" and then emails the form to the approver. So I guess it's doing what I ask of it.

However, the form received via email by the approver still shows the button as invisible, even though the textbox contains "true".

I think you have to check your conditionnal formatting, and test it on preview, if can can't debug it, please attach your form template.

It looks like the buttons only appear if I send the form via email as an attachment. I'm using Outlook 2007, and if I send only the active view of the form, the buttons do not appear. Nor do they appear in Outlook 2007's preview window.
