Hi,

I am trying to add an item into a sharepoint list via Infopath form using the UpdateListItems web service. I have followed the procedure prescribed by Matt Faus.

While I am trying to establish a connection with the web service, it asks for authentication for using the web service at the http://servername/_vti_bin/lists.asmx. When I provide my credentials with respect to the server domain  or that of my user account created at the server, its not accepting.

After I cancel the authentication popup, it anyway displays the list of webservices at that link. After selecting the desired webservice from the list and establishing the connection, when I finally try to submit using the webservice connection, it throws an error saying "Web Service Request Not Authenticated"!!

Please let me know what the possible reason behind the error could be!

Madhu i have had that problem before as well. Does your company use a proxy server? If so try removing unchecking use proxy server and see if that works. If your form authenticates properly now, try adjusting your proxy server settings to not use the proxy for http://<servername>.
