InfoPath Dev

Hi there

I have multiple environments for development / acceptance testing / production. InfoPath is used on a MOSS server. When I create a data connection in IP to a sharepoint list, there is the absolute path in the template. But I need the relative path to my current sharepoint list.

There are some solutions with UDC files but if I understand this feature correctly it does not solve the absolute address in the template. With UDCs I have the absolute link to this UDC and my problem is still the same.

Is there a solution to connect to a specific sharepoint list in the same site as the new IP document was opened? (it would be also nice if I do not need to write code because I want to publish the document only at document libraray level).

Any ideas are welcome.

The only way to do it is to write code. You have to evaluate where the form was opened for (there is a property with the full URL to the form template location that can be used for this), and then use that to build out your URL to the SharePoint site. Then you need to use that URL you just created to update your data connection addresses via code.

I would double check with UDCs - I remember than when I set up a UDC connection in InfoPath, it has a choice between absolute and relative links. I have not really played much with it but do check it out, maybe it will help.
