    Digital signed forms...

    Hi all,

I´m working with IP2003 and I have a problem with forms in a sharepoint library which are already been digitally signed. Now I have had to make add a new view to the form template. After I had republish the changed template --- unfortunately all of the forms that have already been signed now show invalid digital signatures.

Does anyone know a way to add a new view to an existing template without invalidating these signatures?

In my opinion I was always thinking that the digital signatures signs the data of the form --- not the schema ;-((    Isn´t that right?

Thank you very much for any explanation.

    Hi

As the data in an InfoPath form is written in .XML and the InfoPath form itself is in .XML I presume that the digital signature will become invalid as the form has changed much as if you had added a field.  I think this is how it would work in practice.  The way I would fix this would be to have this form connected to a datasource and use a query to return the data on the old forms inline with the new template.

If your form is not connected to a datasource at present you can utilise Qdabra's Database Accelorator that will allow you to map your form to a database natively, while InfoPath itself would require a re-design.

    I hope this helps

    Cheers
