    Security settings

    Hello,

I'm currently trying to create a 'Lookup Control' to be used in Infopath. That control will validate employee id or employee name through a web services with XmlHttp. If there is only one employee match with entry given by user web services will return xml in format <root><row employee_id="0001" employee_name="Test01"/></root>. Otherwise web service will return the following xml format: <root><row employee_id="0002" employee_name="Test02"/><row employee_id="0003" employee_name="Test03"/></root>.

I use XDocument.UI.ShowModalDialog to open a page to display list of employee returned by web service. But I got a message "Permission Denied". I have read that the infopath form should be a 'Full trust' form. I modify the configuration and the problem solved. But it raises another problem. When I didn't give full trust setting to the infopath form, Xmlhttp can be done through scripting. But when I set the form to be Full Trust form, I can display the modal dialog, but I got message "Permission denied" when perform xmlhttp request to web service.

Can anyone explain me how I have to set the security settings that I can have the form to be 'Full trust' and 'xmlhttp' is working through scripting?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi

I am a little bit out of my depth here but I think I might be able to shed some light on some of the behaviours.

the "Permission Denied" on the XDocument.UI.ShowModalDialogue happens when the form is not in full trust, could this be down to Internet Explorer blocking the opening of a new page, full trust solves this.  I think it is just a security setting.

Your second problem revolves around the XmlHTTP working out of full trust but failing under full-trust.  I can only presume here but by making the form full-trust the web service denies permission because the form is making the request rather than the user?

Sorry I can't be clearer but I hope it helps.
