    Some newbie questions

Hi, i just discovered Infopath today as i am trying to get some sheets at work to see both more good looking as well as a bit more easy to work with.

So, what i am doing is sort of a form in wich there is alot of fields just regular textboxes in wich the user can type in data. One of the issues i have ( and i have been searching the forum for an answer but it seems that i am to stupid to work it out :p ) is that i have a couple of colums in wich the numbers that are beeing typed in there adds up in a little textbox at the end called "Totals". This is sort of a listing of buisness expenses and i want to sum them up at the end. I get the guides that you publish here on the forums to work if i only use one textbox as this: summa(fält170) ( this is the Swedish version of it, i suppose its supposed to be "sum(field170) in English. This code is typed in the "total" textbox as thats where the result should be put, but the thing is that i am missing textbox 171 and 172. I cant seem to understand what the code looks like if i want to include all three boxes into one resultbox.

I really hope there is someone out there who undestand what i mean and that are willing to help me out a bit :)

I also have a question about if Excel cells can be liked into Infopath boxes? We have pricelistnings of spareparts in Excel files, and if i want the price for a specific sparepart to show if i put in it's articlenr in a box it will show automaticly?

    Thanks in advance!

    /Micke

Hi Michael and welcome to the forum.

You don't need code to add up fields. See the attached sample to see an example fo the SUM function.

Concerning your second question, I do not think that there is a way to keep an Excel spreadsheet and an InfoPath field perfectly in sync. Keeping them "linked" is something out of my league. Good luck.

I got it to work after having a look at a Infopath guide on youtube.

Just the question about collecting prices from a Excel-file and input it into the infopath =/.

    Thanks anyway :)
