InfoPath Dev

Good Morning,

This is my first time on this website and forum and I am very glad I found it. It has alot of resources. So thank you in advance for all the great resources.

I little background, I am very new to Infopath, like 1 - 2 days. I attempting to create a form to store information on a project. So far I have a great layout, however I am unable to figure out how to send a member or group of members an email of the project I am working on.

I have downloaded a template and diasected it but still can not figure out the code. I have gone through some of the Infopath tutorial on New Horizons website but that isnt helping me. I have also search various websites but none thus far have had any example of creating a simple function to send email based on an entered value.

Can someone pointme in the right direction to resolve this, I am not asking you to create it, just poing me in the right direction.

I would suggest that you use the search functionality of this forum on the right upper corner. Search for eMail or mail and you'll find a bunch of answers to your question.

Some of the things you can achive even without writing a single line of code and for all the rest you should find snippets in each possible language here. If all the threads won't give an answer just let us know and we can try to figure it out.

Thank you so much. I have browsed through the site and have not found what I am looking for, maybe I just need to take some more time with Infopath and experiment, I do not want anyone to send me the answer I want to learn how to do this. I was using a template called Issue Tracking (detailed) from Microsoft.com templates, I would use this template however it will not allow me to change the names of the already created fields.

I still have not found anything that makes sense to me.

Can anyone assist?

To send email you create a data connection to submit. Tools-> Data Connections
Select Submit and Next and then Email
Then you can either put in specific email addrsses or group addresses or you can use the formula button to look one up or create one.
Once this is setup then you just need to add a submit button that uses the data conenction to submit.
