I am very new to InfoPath development. I have created a web service that uses an SQL database as the main data source connection. I can post data to the database through an InfoPath form using a simple, 'Insert' SQL statement. I am not publishing this to SharePoint at this moment so I am not concerned with that aspect of it. What I need to do now is query, update and delete of the data. I have searched many forums for SQL and C# but none are geared towards InfoPath. I have seen code where I have to use the SQLDataReader to retrieve and store data. The fields on the InfoPath form are the fields in the database table I am working with. Is this the correct way to set up the fields on the InfoPath form? Can I do a simple, 'Select' statement to retrieve the data to the fields on the on the InfoPath form? If so, can you post an example of how I would write this code for InfoPath? Should I use different views of the form for add, delete, query and update? So there is a read only form view that can be used for query and delete and an editable form for update?
Thanks in advance for all assistance in this endeavor.
