    Conditional Formating on Text

    Hi new to infopath and happy for all comments;

A question I have is; I have a field (x) and on top of that is text, but this field (x) complies with conditional formating.

Field (x) is hidden until a selection in field (y) is selected, is there a way of hidding the text on top of field (x) as well?

    Thanks.

I would just put the text and the control into a section and hide the complete section till you have selected something from field y.

    Hi Monte Cristo,

Yes it can possible, but what is text here is it the field name.

If it is a field name take the field (x) in a section so that by applying a condition on section you can reach your solution.

    Hope this will help you.

If it is not, please let me know where you entered your text for field (x) in your form.

    Re: Conditional Formating on Text

    Hi Thanks for the advice,

I've considered hiding the field (x) along with the title above it under a section like i've done with other areas of the form.

But it seems to know my form structure out of wack when I put a section with a cell of a three coloumn table.

So basically i have a 3 coloumn table, in the first coloum is:

    name (y) | name (x) | name (z)
    field (Y) | field (x) | field (z)

so this whole table is set within a section and has rules for application of different user roles.

    Hope this explains it

    Hi Monte Cristo,

What sort of field is the text you want to hide? Is it an actual text field or an expression box?

Any reason you can't use conditional formatting on the text you want to hide based upon the other conditional formatting you mention?
