Submitting a Form to Sharepoint issue

    Hi,

I have an issue in submitting a form to a sharepoint library.  If the user clicks on the Submit button in the toolbar area, the "Date Modified" and "Modified By" fields in the Sharepoint document library are automatically updated (presumably by InfoPath itself!)

I have also added a custom Submit button that does exactly the same as the normal submit button which is a rule to fire off the "sharepoint library submit" data connection.  But in this case, the "Date Modified" and "Modified By" fields in the Sharepoint document library are not updated.   Is this a bug in Infopath.  Is there a workaround.

    Thanks

It's not a bug in InfoPath and shouldn't be happening (or not happening).  I use a custom submit button in every form I make, and it always keeps track of modified and modified by.  I would check your setup and make sure it's behaving as it seems.

It should definitely update those fields ANY TIME the form is updated in the library.  Are you sure your submit button isn't submitting a new form with a new filename?
