    Creating a Dynamic Form

    Hi very new to InfoPath.

I'm attempting to creat a dynamic form built for users to respond to changing questions (Almost like a survey). Using Access, three tables have been created to store the responses.

    Table1
    SURVEYID (Key)
    PARTICIPANTID (KEY)
    SURVEYNAME

    Table2
    CATEGORYID (KEY)
    SURVEYID (KEY)
    PARTICIPANTID (KEY)
    CATEGORYRESPONSE

    Table3
    QUESTIONID (KEY)
    SURVEYID (KEY)
    PARTICPANTID (KEY)
    QUESTIONRESPONSE

Other tables exist that are being queried to store the questions for which we want a response.

    Table4
    QUESTIONID (KEY)
    QUESTION
    CATEGORYID
ACTIVE (Yes/No - determines if the question will appear on the form)

To this point I have been successful in creating an Infopath form to dynamicaly display the questions (as a secondary data source) grouped by category using (related)Repeating tables. The problem is I need to create a new record in table 3 for each question (approximately 30) and new record in table 2 for each category response (currently 4) and a new single record in table 1 for each survey.

The logical thing to do in my mind is to embed the maind data source fields into the repeating tables where i want a response. How can I "link" the dynamic records from the secondary source to a "new" record in the Main (submit) data source? Also I want the process to be seemless to the end user. No need for adding sections etc. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Patrick and welcome to the forum!

You've come to the right place to find the "link" you are looking for! This seems like a very complicated database manipulation and although it might be possible to accomplish this with pure InfoPath, I'm sure you will have to write tons of code. However, instead of doing that why don't you just give out Database Accelerator a try? This middle-tier web service will accept any InfoPath XML form as input and shred the results into a relational schema without writing a single line of code!
