    How to avoid duplicate entry (inserted or pasted)

    Hello everybody,
    I am new to Infopath.
    for a repeating table handling data like
    <Data id= "" other = ""/>
    how can I ensure id is not repeated (but 0(or "") which would define a new entry)?
    In perticular when copying pasting, I would like id to be set to 0 instead of the inital copied value.
    I know how to set it to 0 per default when user insert it, but I do not know how to set it to 0 after user has modified it, in the case the entered value already exists.

    Briefly how to detect the id already exists and set it to 0 in that case? I guess XPATH would help but I can't find a way...

    Many thanks in advance for any help!
    Regards

    Hello VincentBritelle welcome to the forums,
    You take an expression box as a column in the repeating table to give data id and give the Position() as Xpath to that expression box. So that id is not repeated and it will give the increment row number.

    Hope this helps you!

    Hello Shilpa,
    Thank you for your quick help.
    I am also quite new to Xpath, I will try to find a way using Position().
    Thanks
