Is the only way can receive data to post to a form is through a Web Service.

Is it another way you can Receive data from to post to the InfoPath form than using a Web Service.

There are four basic ways to recieve data in an InfoPath form:

1. XML Document
2. Database
3. Web Service
4. SharePoint

So if I have SharePoint, do I need to create a database connection? I already have created a database connection. Or is it best to store your data in multiple ways.

I would have to know much more about your scenario and requirements to answer such an architectural question. Ultimately, it is up to you to determine the best means to store you data.

The benefits of using a database over SharePoint is that it is generally faster, but SharePoint has a lot of user-friendly components that make its use straightforward for all levels of technical competence.
