Now() function - unexpected results - incorrect time zone / offset

    Greetings,

     I consider myself a newbie.

Infopath 2007, SharePoint 2007 Forms Library.

The form has been set-up (so far) without any custom coding or by using SPD, just out of the box object settings.

The form includes a control that sets the value of a field to now Field = now()

The format of the field is Date and Time format, None (display XML value)

The users of the form are located around the globe.

The expectation is that the form gets updated with the date and time appropriately.

The generated XML contains e.g. <my:Field>2008-04-30T15:36:42</my:Field>  whereas the actual value (based on the user's regional settings) was expected to be <my:Field>2008-04-30T10:36:42</my:Field>

Looking at the formats dialog in InfoPath some formats seem to be tied to the date and time settings used by the OS.

The question is if the None format is also tied to the date and time settings used by the OS?  if not where does it pick up the date and time from?

Many thanks in advance for any help/assistance explaining why Infopath does not pick up the correct time would be much appreciated.

Are you sure it is only getting set once?

Is this field displayed so you can see it immediately when it is set?  The now() function should pull the local date and time from the client PC.
