    Infopath Import Help

    Hi all,

I've created an infopath form and document library to contain it.

The question is, how do I (CAN I?) import existing data into the library?

I know that you can import data from a spreadsheet into a list. That's fine. But is there anyway to populate an infopath based list the same way?? If not, then how are companies supposed to migrate their existing data without manually creating a hundred new infopath forms?

    Ta!

    Hi,
I dont know a direct way of creating XML files from excel sheet. But it is not that hard to write a tool that generates XML files from spreadsheet data.

If a single form contains multiple rows from the Excel spreadsheet, then you can use Excel's data map feature to convert the excel list to a single InfoPath XML file. If each row in Excel represents a separate InfoPath XML file, then you can use Excel's map to map the Excel data to the InfoPath schema, save that as XML, then write a script to break that into separate XML files with the correct InfoPath PI.
