InfoPath Dev

I am brand spanking new to Infopath and I have a few books, but I just seem to look up somethign and then get lost in a bunch of XML examples.

I have a basic question, I think, can you have the user load the form and have it point to a specific record in my MS SQL database?

I have connected, read, write and modified data throug InfoPath in the database already with no problems.

You can do this, but don't you want the list to filter on some kind of action from the user, such as a selection from a drop-down list? Filtering whenever the form is opened might be a little difficult and you would want to look into "passing parameters into infopath".
