Hi,
I have one infoPath project,can you please help me on this, here is the requirements:-

The database tables required for this form are as follows:
PORH
POPH
ICI1
POLOT

The form should present the customer with the following functionality

Warehouse code dropdown box (PORH.WHSE) – identifying the warehouse where the receipt was made
Supplier code dropdown box (PORH.SUPPLR) – allows the user to select the supplier to narrow the list of receipts
Receipt number dropdown box (PORH.RECPT) – allowing the user to select a receipt number for the supplier selected in the previous dropdown box. The receipt numbers will be ordered in descending date order
Receipt date label (POPH.RECDAT) – displaying the date of the receipt

Data Grid/Table containing the following columns:

Item No. – Label (un-editable), POPH.PRODCT

Description – Label (un-editable), ICI1.PRODCTDES

Receipt Quantity – Label (un-editable), POPH.RECQTY

Lot Number – Textbox waiting for lot number, POLOT.LOTNUM

Add Line – Button allowing the user to add another lot number with the same receipt number, product code

The information sent to the POLOT table is as follows:

POLOT.RECPT

POLOT.PRODCT

POLOT.LOTNUM

These three fields are set as a combined key, therefore I will get a data integrity error when a POLOT.RECPT, POLOT.PRODCT and POLOT.LOTNUM are all the same as another record in this table. It is possible multiple lot numbers are sent per item on any one receipt.

Please give me some tips how this can be possible.

Well you have quite a project on your hands, don't you?

For the drop-down lists I would look at the following HowTos to get you started on the cascading lists the display different items depending on what was chosen in a previous drop-down. This is called a cascading drop-down list.

To order the receipts in descending date order it will be best to manually edit the SQL statement that is executed in the data connection wizard to sort these rows before InfoPath even receives them. Otherwise you can write code to do this, but the SQL statement is going to be much easier and more performant.

To make the fields un-editable you can either use an expression box or mark the field as readonly by double-clicking the control, going to Display, and selecting Read-only.

For the data validation I would have to know a little more about your schema. Are you doing this with Managed Code or with script?

Hi Matt,
I really appreciate for your help.As I am very new to InfoPath, still in learning phase, please advise how should I start, like what will be my approach.Here is brief view again what I want:-
I have 3 different tables, from these 3 tables I have to display some fields in combo boxes, so when user will select any field in 1st combo box, 2nd box will be populated based on first selection, then 3rd will be populated accorindg to the second selection(For this you have already advised me to use cascading list, I am sure which will work for sure).
Now based on the selection in these 3 fields from 3 tables, user has to enter like product's LOT number, invoice number etc into another 4th table, how that would be possible?Please give me how should I approach.
