    Repeat date inside repeating table

I have a question for everyone. I have been creating a form in InfoPath and VS2005 using C# that when submitted, it submits to an access database, creates copies of the xml form and exports a word document, then emails the word document. I have a repeating table in my form that asks for a project name, date, and hours and then inputs that into the database. Now my question is, is there a way that I could have a repeating date field inside the repeating table so if multiple dates are selected, it will input the same project into the database multiple times? By the way, the database submit is through InfoPath. I haven't written any code to handle the submit. Sorry if this isn't clear. Let me know. Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

    Welcome to Infopathdev Forums

What do you mean by Repeating date field? Do you want the Date field to be repeated in the row of Repeating Table. Yes you can do so by inserting a repeating section in the repeating table and then a datepicker in ths Repeating section. But you have to handle it by Code to make multiple copies of the same project based on the multiple dates you have for the project.

I hope I understood it correctly.

Thanks for the welcome. See, the only problem is, the main connection is using the repeating table. So if I try to add a repeating section to the repeating table, it says, "control cannot repeat here." Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hello,
You should use Repeating Table in the Secondary Data connection. As long as the Repeating table is in Main Connection it will not allow you to Add the Repeating section in the Repeating table.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any way I can switch it over easily? If I take out the repeating table from the main connection, then i'll have to write the code for the whole submit to the database. Any easier way to accomplish this? Thanks!

Re: Repeat date inside repeating table

Here is an attached link of what part of the form looks like. As you can see, it is a repeating table that will display the project, date, hours, and comments if you press new project. What I want to do is be able to add multple dates for each project. It's all being submitted to an Access database so basically if a project has three dates, then the project will be submitted three times into the database with each date. Currently, I have the main connection set up as submitting to an Access database so I can't just put the date in a repeating table or section. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Fixed this by getting rid of the main connection with the database and creating my own submit. That way I could specify my fields into whatever repeating table I wanted. Holla!
