I have a OnBeforeChange event. In this event code i Try to call to a private VBscript function.

private Function FormatId (OldId As String) As String
Dim NewId As String
NewId="0" & OldId
FormatId = NewId
End function

When I run the form I get this Error

Expected ')'

What is the problem?

Is there an 'As String' in VBS?
seems to work without them...

That's work!
But I have new Problem:

Private Function FormatId (OldId)
Dim NewId
NewId=OldId
While ( (Len(NewId) >0) AND (Len(NewId) < 9 ))
NewId="0" & NewId
End While
FormatId = NewId
End function

I get this error

Expected statement

End While

What is the problem?

Use 'wend' instead of 'End While'?

Do While ( (Len(NewId) >0) AND (Len(NewId) < 9 ))
NewId="0" & NewId
Loop
