    base64 image and PDF

    Hi,

I have created my first form with InfoPath where image(s) can be added.
As soon as the form is validated, its contents is send via mail.
As all recipients haven't InfoPath, a PDF is created using the FOP library and a XSL stylesheet.

Here is my problem : as the image is embedded within the XML of the form, I use the fo:instream-foreign-object with svg but the quality of the image in the PDF document is very poor.
Is it a way to get the image local file name (to use fo:external-graphic) ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Salut,

Which processor svg do you use for make this? Have you try another?

You can use fo:external-graphic but your image need to be save on your computer or on the server It's depend where you make your transformation!

No, included images doesnt have filename and other file details available.

Attached objects has filename etc attached by adding an InfoPath header to the picture (witch you have to remove programatically when extracting those files -search for "InfoPath attachment" in this forum for info).

When looking at images vs attached files in Infopath, you will also note the difference: the attached file has an icon, filename etc wich is extracted from the header.

Here is my solution and it works : within the XSL, I call a Java static method which transforms the Base64 "string" into a image and I use fo:external-graphic with the URL parameter returned by the Java call ...
