InfoPath 2003 xml security and attachment prompt

    Greetings,

We have recently implemented Sharepoint 2003 in our production environment. We are running windows xp with sp2 and office 2003 with sp1. As part if our sharepoint deployment, there are several .xml InfoPath files that are linked through one of the pages in the portal. When users click on a link that points to an xml file, they are presented with the “Do you want to open or save this file" dialog box. With XP sp2, there is no check box in the dialog box for "always ask before opening this type of file". If I go to the properties of the file type and uncheck the "confirm open after download" box, the prompt continues to appear. The portal site is in the trusted sites zone for IE. According to our user feedback, the incessant prompts from a web page that is in our own intranet is a barrier to user acceptance. We are looking for a way to disable that security prompt for xml files that open in InfoPath when accessed through our sharepoint portal. So far, we have not found a way to do it. Do any of you know of a way to disable the prompt so that InfoPath just opens its associated files like other office apps can be configured to do?

Second issue: when working with a form that has an attachment control, users can open the attachment (.doc, .pdf or whatever) by double clicking on it. At this point they are again prompted with security warning. This time the title bar says "Microsoft Office InfoPath" and the text says "you have chosen to open a file that may contain viruses or be otherwise harmful to your computer...... do you want to continue?" Again, since opening attachments this way is part of the new rollout and there will never be a dangerous file attached to one of our internal InfoPath forms, the never ending prompts are annoying to management and users. I have not found a way to turn off that prompt either. I have looked through every IE, InfoPath, and registry setting that looked like it might change things but I have not had any success yet.

Does anyone know how to accomplish these things?

    Thanks,
