Copying data between fields on event

In my form I have two sets of address fields e.g Invoice address and delivery address.

I'd like to add a check box which when clicked indicates that the invoice and billing address are the same. On clicking this box I'd lke to either copy the Invoice address data to the Delivery address fields or link to them in some way.

Does anyone know how I can do this?

Double-click your check box control and then click Rules.

You can add rules to copy the value of one field to another. Set up as many copy actions as you need to in your rule.

You could do this easily with rules on the checkbox or with code in the OnAfterChange event.

    1. To add rules double-click the checkbox, and then click the Rules button.
    2. Click Add, set the condition so that the rule fires when checkbox is equal to TRUE, click OK.
    3. Click Add Action.
    4. Choose change a field's value - use the formula boxes to select the appropriate fields to copy from.
    5. Click OK until you're back to the canvas.

The same could be done to erase the values when the checkbox is unclicked - just use set field's value to ""

    Hi Taffman,

This is a very common question and here is an excellent how-to written by Greg Collins that should explain exactly how you can do exactly what need:

Many thansk to all who responded. The solution wasnt obvious to me as I dont have either SP1 or SP2 installed so the "Rules" feature is not available to me. I'll se if I can convince our corporate help desk to upgrade me. thanks again for putting up with a newbee ;-)

Can you believe this?! Three simultaneous posts! The probability of this happening is so slight! Crazy!
